My journey to home styling wasn't exactly planned, but it's a story of heart, healing, and a whole lot of green.

As a young professional, my home was less a sanctuary and more a pit stop—bare walls, basic furniture, nothing to write home about. I thought design was for those with endless time, money, or maybe just a better eye. Then, life changed everything.

Following my dad's passing, I witnessed my mother's quiet transformation of our home. In the midst of grief, I saw my mother create beauty from what felt like broken pieces. With grace, grit, and love, she picked up paintbrushes, rearranged furniture, and mended what was broken. I watched the scent of fresh paint filling the house as she carefully brushed each wall, and saw old furniture gleam with new life. And I began to see what I had been missing.

Home wasn’t about matching curtains or perfect palettes. It was about love, care, creativity, and resilience. So, with my loyal Belgian Malinois always by my side, I started small—a little DIY here, a new plant there. Before I knew it, I fell in love with turning my own space into a home.

That spark became The Verdant Nest.
